At any given time 50% of the clients I work with are practising intermittent fasting. Since I first adopted Intermittent fasting as a lifestyle choice a year ago I now offer it as an option for anyone that is embarking on a body transformation program with myself or a member of my personal training team.
I didn’t come to advocate such a radical system lightly. I used an 8 hour eating period followed by a daily 16 hour fast for 6 months straight to experience not just the benefits but also any potential downside to the regime.
I was able to loose fat as fast as I ever have been able to in the initial 6 weeks, following that I have been able to stay under 10% bodyfat for 11 months straight with little or no actual ‘dieting’ or restriction of calories. Read Full Post »

The summer season is only a few months away, and we all know what that means – it’s time to work on our beach bodies! Whether you’re a year-round exercise fanatic or someone who only works out occasionally, the spring is usually a time to focus a bit more on exercise in an attempt to burn fat, shape up, and be ready for a bathing suit shopping trip to Marks and Spencer. However, as you set about preparing your summer beach body, it’s still important to do so in a strategic and healthy manner. Many people adopt “lose weight fast” techniques in an attempt to flatten their stomachs in just a few weeks’ time. Unfortunately, it’s rarely that easy. But with a smart workout routine, you can certainly make significant improvement between now and beach season!
Keeping this in mind, it’s time to debunk a few common workout philosophies that people turn to for quick weight loss and toning. Here are a few words on some common myths and tips for a more efficient and effective workout. Read Full Post »

It’s been a great year for Project Fitness and everyone we’ve guided to the achievement of their goals!
Things have become so busy with me that I’m no longer able to travel to deliver sessions so now only deliver training sessions at my studio in Victoria. In response to the overwhelming demand, I’ve sought out some of London’s very finest personal trainers to join the team.
There are 4 new additions to Project Fitness that will whirl into action in 2013. The new teams achievements range from international sports honours (including a 2012 Olympian in Lauren Penny of South Africa!) fitness modelling and amazing track records with their individual clients bases. You can find out more about the expanding Project Fitness team here
Project Fitness will now also extend to East London and the City. Which means that no matter where you are in our great capital Project Fitness can serve you with professional personal training services.
In early 2013 I’ll also launch my personal development resource, from which my services will extend to personal life coaching.
Have wonderful festive period and we’ll see you in 2013!

I know it’a only September, but doesn’t it feel like the weather changed overnight?
We’re still quite a long way away from those rugged winter months but I thought I might provide a few tips in advance for keeping fit and healthy in cold weather
Its a time of darker days, more hot (and generally calorific) food being served and less motivation to get out of the house and into exercise, it’s no surprise then that by the time spring comes around it’s not uncommon to have gained an extra 10lbs! Read Full Post »

Having lived in both the USA and the UK I have noticed some rather large differences in what my female clients would like to achieve with their bodies.
The ideal look seems to change quite dramatically over the Atlantic. Many of those I work with in the UK tend to want to reduce the size of their bottoms and take focus away from this area, whilst ladies over in America seem to want to increase theirs and make it the centre point of their physique. This is not an absolute (I once heard that only a Sith lord deals in absolutes!) but it is certainly a trend I have noticed. Read Full Post »

Recently I was asked by a personal training client of mine what she could do to avoid her food cravings. This is a very common question, so I have outlined some steps you can easily implement to alleviate these cravings and not compromise the goals you are working towards through unnecessary overeating. How to stick to a new years Resolution
Let’s face it: most of us fail when it comes to sticking to resolutions — so much so that many people swear never to make resolutions again.
And yet the rest of us are eternally hopeful when the New Year comes around, believing without any credible evidence that we can improve our lives, that change is possible, that we’re not going to be stuck in the same old rut again this year. Read Full Post »
